We met for Teacher Tech Tinker Time tonight. We will meet again Tuesday November 15th 3:30-4:30. Mark your calendars! If there is something you would like to cover during our November meeting, let me know and we can add it. Hope to see you there! After every meeting I will send out a blast letting you know the things we discussed/learned. I'll try to include links so if you missed and something sounds interesting you can have some resources to go with it on your own.  -Sunnie

Teacher Tech Tinker Time Blast-

Tonight we discovered a lot of NEW things. If you are interested in any of these things please check the link or reach out.

This is an engaging game that requires students to solves specific clues/questions or answers in your content to be able to unlock certain locks.  Digital ones can be done using google forms, drawing, docs and sites...plus you could add more.

As we learned about those it led us to learn a few other neat things....

  • Snotes Make an image like this that students need to twist and turn to read it.  These would make great clues for a breakout game.

  • VR Photo Sphere viewer-make your own here or view this example
  • Google Expeditions

This allows you to take a picture and turn it into a 3D realm. You could hide a clue in the picture and then they turn the device until they can see all areas of the picture. There are also some neat virtual gogles that go with this. I believe we have 2 pairs-maybe 4 pairs in our building. If not there is a glasses picture you can hit to use just the device and not goggles are needed. You can also use this to explore so students feel like the picture is their reality.

Lastly, we talked about some study and fun tools that students might enjoy:

Chatterpixkids

App where you can draw a line for a mouth on a picture you've taken and record your own voice. Videos can be placed into the camera roll and then easily moved into imovie, Video Editor & Slideshow maker or something similar.

Tellagami

App where you speak for an avatar.

Studystack

Flashcards-make your own or search for ones already made.

Quizlet

Flashcards and games-make your own or search pre-made sets.
